Algarve Tourism Region

The Algarve region is an excellent destination for cycling enthusiasts. The varied landscape and mild climate for most of the year make this region a perfect place to explore by bike.
There are many well signposted cycling routes in the region, including trails along the coast, routes in the mountains and paths through rural landscapes. Some of the most popular routes include the Ecovia do Litoral, which follows the Algarve coastline from Vila Real de Santo António to Sagres, and the Via Algarviana, which crosses the Algarve region from east to west, passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region.
The Algarve region is also a popular place for road cycling, with many professional and amateur cyclists coming to train in the region during the cooler months of the year. There are many quiet and picturesque roads that wind through the hills and along the coast, offering challenges for all skill levels.
